large family table twice baked potatoes How to Cook Instant Pot Whole Frozen Chicken + Homemade Bone Broth Recipe

I recently bought 25 pasture raised chickens for our large family freezer. Today I'm showing you how to cook a whole frozen chicken in the Instant Pot. PLUS, I'm sharing how to make homemade chicken bone broth in the Instant Pot as well!

I'm traveling right now so the large family recipes are not up on the LargeFamilyTable.com at the moment.

Here is the recipe for How to Cook Instant Pot Whole Frozen Chicken:

*One frozen chicken (4 lbs in size)
*One cup of water (to build pressure)
*3 TBS grassfed butter
*1 TBS Thyme
*Salt/Pepper/other spices per personal preference
*Place in Instant Pot (I use an 8 qt Instant Pot) on manual high for 60 minutes. Make sure the lid is secure per manufacture's instructions and valve is set to seal.
*Let Instant Pot naturally release pressure once complete
*Remember to check the internal temp of your chicken. It needs to be at least 165 degrees.

And here is the recipe for how to make Homemade Bone Broth in the Instant Pot:

*Place chicken bones of deconstructed cooked chicken, including chicken skin, small meat pieces, all chicken bones back into 8 qt Instant Pot.
*Leave natural broth left from cooking a whole chicken in the Instant Pot if you also followed those whole chicken cooking directions above.
*Add in 12 cups of water and 1 TBS of ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar - to help pull nutrients from the chicken bones)
*Secure Instant Pot lid and set valve to sealing
*Cook on Manual High for 240 minutes
*Let Instant Pot naturally release at the end of the ​cycle
*Afterwards strain your broth to remove the bones etc.
*Place broth in storage containers or glass jars.
