Le pianiste Gilles Rosine, né en 1970, a grandi en Martinique au sein d'une famille de musiciens -- dont le plus connu était son oncle de Paulo Rosine, pianiste et leader du groupe Malavoi. Après des études de musique à Paris, Gilles se fait peu à peu un prénom.
Son écriture, ancrée dans le jazz caribéen aux accents biguine-jazz, révèle un talent certain dans le jeu et les envolées élégantes... Son premier CD a été préfacé par Mario Canonge ! Musicien sobre et discret, il est un arrangeur et accompagnateur hors pair, mis en lumière lors de l'hommage à Paulo Rosine avec le big band de Tony Chasseur. Personnage attachant, Gilles Rosine s'inscrit dans la lignée des pianistes martiniquais, à qui il rend hommage, rehaussée d'une modernité certaine, pleine de musicalité.
